Why does Porky Pig hate America?

I was browsing one of my favorite blogs today (The Friendly Atheist) and came across this video.  As you can tell it is Porky Pig reciting the Pledge of Allegiance. But there is something missing.  Did you catch it?  There is no "Under God" crap crammed in.

This may come as a shock to many of you but this country used to be much better in some respects. This was one of them. It used to be very very rude to discuss religion in most circumstances.  Why?  Because most people didn't want other people forcing their religious crap on them. It is a different time now.

Religion is invading everything in this country. It is ruining our history books by removing Thomas Jefferson (Another reason why Texas sucks (from the NYT)). Religion is attempting to crush science with myths, infant logic and outright lies (Another reason why Kansas sucks (from CNN)). Religion started wrapping its creepy claws around the US, in genera,l a long time ago. Religious clowns have been trying for decades to strip off one of the best parts of America. Our right to be free from magical thought in the public sector, but they didn't get Porky. He didn't bow to the pressure. Porky Pig gets it..... and for that Porky, I salute you.

I love Hockey

As most of you know by now the Chicago Blackhawks have won the Stanley Cup. It is the Hawks first cup since 1961 and more importantly this is the first time I have seen them win it.  I would have posted this sooner but I just woke up from the post cup winning bender.  

Way to go Science!!!

I love stories like this. It really doesn't have a downside. Apparently some scientists in Cleveland have developed a vaccine that appears could prevent breast cancer. This is terrific. Here is the original story from CNN.
